A fun paper plane math activity to re-inforce the concept of measurement and distance.
Paper Plane Math Activity You will needPaper Units of measure e.g. footsteps, ruler, bottle, rolled up newspaper
Activity
Make paper planes together. You could decorate them with shapes or stickers beforehand (see below)stand on a set point and have competitions to see which plan flies the furthest. Use the different units of measure to count how many measures away each plane lands. Decide which unit is best.

Following instructions Fine motor skills – folding Gross motor skills - throwing Counting Thinking about units of measurement
Variation
Decorate the planes by printing them with geometric shapes – squares, circles, rectantles etc BEFORE you fold the paper to make the planes.
