Christmas Paper Chain Advent Craft

Christmas Paper Chain Advent Craft

Make a traditional red and green paper chain consisting of 24 links.

Use it as an advent "calendar".

Hang it in the child's room or from the top of a door way in your home (or classroom) so that the child can reach the links, or you can pick them up to reach the links.

Every day let your child tear one link off, starting at the bottom of the chain and when there are no links left it will be Christmas.

You will need

Red and green card or paper
Glue/stapler
Scissors

Method

Pre-cut strips of paper/card of equal length. Make sure to cut 12 strips of each color.

Activity
1. Join the ends of one strip of paper together to form a circle, using glue or a stapler.
2. Using the other color, thread the next strip through the circle and fasten its ends to make another interlinked circle.
3. Repeat using alternating colors until all the strips have been used.
