Lady Bug

by Louise Schoeman
(Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, South Africa)

An easy ladybug craft using an empty toilet roll:

Materials per lady bug:

A5 size paper
toilet roll
red paint
black crayon / pencil
glue
pipe cleaners

Instructions

Draw ladybug wings on paper.(Adult may need to do this)
Paint the wings red.
Let them dry.
Cut them out (mom or pre-schooler or both!)
Draw black dots on the wings.
Paste wings to toilet-roll body.

You can add legs and feelers - but it still looks like the real thing even without it.

I used this craft in two ways - as introduction to letter "L" and as a counting exercise with the dots.
