Free Alphabet Worksheets
These free alphabet worksheets in manuscript print are ideal for practicing neat handwriting and correct letter formation.
After downloading and printing the pages, have the first two pages, the Alphabet Reference Sheets, laminated back to back. In this way, your child can keep them handy whenever she writes. They can even be used for practicing correct letter formation, by tracing over the letters using a fine non-permanent white-board marker.
Features of Legible Handwriting1. Correct Letter Formation Try using multi-sensory approaches for teaching correct letter formation. Let children ‘see, say and do’ the letters on these free alphabet worksheets. 2. Consistent letter size and alignment Letters should be uniform in size and not float above or below the lines. Lower case letters should consistently be half the size of upper case (capital) letters. 3. Consistent spacing Spacing between letters and also between words must be uniform. Omitting spaces between words is a common error which can make writing hard to read. Let your child make a space the width of a finger or popsicle stick between each word she writes. Alternatively, let her write on graph paper and leave an open square (or two) between words.

(Sarah, South Africa) "I love the idea, love the way the learning takes place, love the books and poems recommended, and love that I feel a freedom to add to and take away according to the bendt of my daughter, but most of all, I love the results. This is one tool that I as a preschool mom would not be without and certainly something that I love to recommend to other mothers." (April, NC)
