10 August 2007, Issue #041 1. Hello from ShirleyLife is never the same - just when you think you have it taped, things change. I feel like I am still adjusting to this new season with my new baby, who is already 3 months old.Just to show you that children learn things in their own time, today my five year old surprised me and copied out a whole Bible verse that I had actually printed out for the older two children - and the amazing thing is that her dad couldn't tell which child had written it - that's how neatly it was written! See - just create a learning environment and they'll learn when they want to!
You can see which pages of my site I have worked on or updated recently by visiting my site blog.

You will find my favourite parenting or teaching books that I recommend at Shirley's Store on my site.
Last month I recommended The Five Love Languages of Children by Gary Chapman and Ross Campbell in book form or on audio CD or audio-casette. This month has been a busy one and I have not read any child-related books as I have started a Doula course that requires intensive reading. If you haven't already, download this 20 minute ebook that could possibly change your lifestyle: The Work At Home Moms Mastercourse Find out how you can create an information-rich web site that is based on something you know and love. No technical knowledge or prior experience is necessary. Just like me, you too can build a real, long-term business on the Net, and be with your kids the whole time. The authors, Elizabeth, Cate, Jennifer and Erin, start right from the beginning, from reviewing all of the options and organizing properly, to the nitty-gritty of how to actually build a substantial income online. A mom who reads and follows this information will soon be on her way to building a real business with a growing income, one that could even become the primary family income!
Instead of focusing on readiness activities this month, I have written an article about other Goals for Preschool Training. If you would still like readiness activities, please refer to those on my site in the School Readiness section or browse the Backissues of The Whole Child publication. I will post more readiness activities as usual next month. Many blessings Shirley
